Freedom of press is an independent and fundamental component of democratic societies, playing a crucial role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and the free flow of information. It is essential that we raise our voice for the freedom of speech. If we do not advocate for freedom of speech, basic rights will vanish, and we live in a superficial, celebrity-driven society. Freedom of thought is the true essence of real freedom in human life.

Freedom of press is on a global decline, with the varieties of Democracy institute reporting that around 85% of the world’s population now lives in countries where press freedom has declined over the past five year. This alarming trend is reflected in the World Press Freedom Index, which reveals that condition for participating journalisms is considered satisfactory in just ¼ of 180 countries. The shrinking space for free an independent journalism underscores the growing challenges faced by the media worldwide.
